Tech Training Program
is a unique learning and mentorship platform that involves and benefits students across school years.
The purpose
of this program is to boost interest and confidence in music technology among female-identifying undergraduate students through learning from a female mentor.
How does this work?
The mentors are selected from the graduate programs (or seniors of undergraduate programs), and they are responsible to put together and teach a 7-session syllabus.
Each mentor will work with no more than 4 mentees (undergraduates/ first years/ second years) for the semester.
Campus Impact
Overall, the SKT Tech Training Program encourages a sustainable community of female students working together to up-skill in music technology.
The trainer’s university experience is enriched by having a platform to share their skills with younger students in the field. This gives them an opportunity to design a 7-session syllabus based on their strengths and areas of interest.
The trainees get to build a solid foundation in their interest in a small and intimate setting. This all-female learning environment has proven to boost morale and inspire confidence in trainees with little to no experience to get started in music technology.
