Jasmine is incredibly passionate about gender diversity and equity in the music industry, specifically in regard to representation in recording studios, and has worked to support female and non-binary producers, engineers and technologists in building successful careers in music. As a producer and educator (Global Music Institute) with a Masters Degree in Music Production, Technology and Innovation (Berklee College of Music), she is deeply motivated to close the gender gap within the music industry.

According to the 2023 USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative Report, women make up less than 3% of producers and engineers in the recording music industry. Witnessing the lack of representation while completing her Masters degree abroad, she founded She Knows Tech. This organization aims to close the gender gap within the music tech industry by providing a platform for women to give and receive training in the music recording industry and highlighting female professionals as role models.

Since 2020, Jasmine has produced more than 48 in-person and virtual events (workshops, masterclasses, discussion panels, concerts, challenges, summits, bringing together more than 200+ professionals and 400+ participants through She Knows Tech. She has also created the Tech Training program which focuses on connecting undergraduate students with a female/non-binary tech trainer for one semester. This has become a signature program in the Berklee Valencia campus. Jasmine has been heralded as one of the forces that is supporting and championing women/non-binary people within recording spaces and has been invited to present and moderate panels at conferences (Amsterdam Dance Event, INO CON, and NEXTGEN_NOW Summit).

Meghan Smyth is co-founder of SKT and an artist-focused streaming platform called Sparrow Live. She is a software engineer and audio engineer, and her passion lies at the intersection of music, visual art, and technology.
